Isotype
Mouse IgG1
Specificity
The mouse monoclonal antibody C-PEP-01 reacts specifically with C-peptide, a part of the proinsulin molecule. Proinsulin consists of three parts: C-peptide and two long strands of amino acids (alpha and beta chains; later become linked together to form the insulin molecule). No cross-reactivity with insulin or other peptide hormones or proteins was observed.
Application
ELISA (QC tested)
Reactivity
Human
Immunogen
Human C-peptide conjugated to bovine serum albumin.
Concentration
0.2 mg/ml
Preparation
Purified antibody is conjugated with activated horseradish peroxidase (HRP) of high specific enzyme activity under optimum conditions and unconjugated antibody and free HRP are removed by size-exclusion chromatography.
Formulation
Stabilizing phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.4, 0.01% thimerosal
Storage and handling
Store at 2-8°C. Protect from prolonged exposure to light. Do not freeze.

Other names
C-peptide of proinsulin
Antigen description
From every molecule of proinsulin, one molecule of insulin plus one molecule of C-peptide are produced. C-peptide is released into the blood stream in equal amounts to insulin.
ELISA analysis of human C-peptide by mouse monoclonal antibody C-PEP-01. MaxiSorp plate was coated with recombinant human C-peptide, then blocked with BSA, and incubated with dilution series of anti-C-peptide HRP conjugated primary antibody. Colorimetric detection was performed using TMB substrate and absorbance was measured at 450 nm.
