Antigen description
CD270 is a type I transmembrane protein of the TNFR superfamily, which is expressed on resting T cells, monocytes, and immature dendritic cells. Its ligands, CD258 and CD272, differ in effect on CD270 signaling. Whereas binding to CD258 provides a costimulatory signal, binding to CD272 gives to the cell an inhibitory signal. CD270 also is recognized by herpes simplex glycoprotein D. CD258-CD270 interaction and signaling is implicated in macrophage-derived foam cell-mediated development of atherosclerotic lesions.

Flow cytometry surface staining pattern of human peripheral whole blood stained using anti-human CD270 (CW10) Biotin antibody (concentration in sample 5 μg/ml, Streptavidin APC).
1B-911_FC_Histogram
Anti-Hu CD270 Biotin antibody (clone CW10) specificity verification by flow cytometry

Anti-Hu CD270 Biotin antibody (concentration in sample 5 μg/ml, streptavidin APC, red-filled histogram) binds specifically to CD270 on surface of SK-MEL-30 cells (upper panel) and also main leukocyte subpopulations - neutrophil granulocytes, monocytes, lymphocytes (middle panels), but not to surface of blood debris including thrombocytes (lower panel). Level of non-specific binding was assessed using Mouse IgG1 isotype control Biotin antibody (MOPC-21) under same conditions (concentration in sample 5 μg/ml, streptavidin APC, black-dashed histogram).
