The antibody HE-195 recognizes human blood group A including weak variants A3, AX, A3B, AXB. The specifity of antibody HE-195 was confirmed by comparison of specifity and reactivity to standard reagent using >5000 samples of blood.

Human blood group A antigen belongs to a group of carbohydrate determinats carried on both glycolipids and glycoproteins; it is detected on erythrocytes and certain epithelial cells.
