CD371, also known as CLL-1 (C-type lectin-like molecule-1) or CLEC12A, is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein with immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs that functions as an inhibitory receptor on myeloid cells. It's expressed on monocytes, granulocytes, dendritic cells, and importantly on acute myeloid leukemia (AML) blasts in most cases, while being largely absent from normal hematopoietic stem cells.
The 50C1 clone is a highly specific antibody that has gained significant attention for its selective binding to CD371. 50C1 is highly suitable for flow cytometry, providing strong and specific surface staining that enables reliable discrimination of leukemic blasts from normal hematopoietic populations, particularly in AML. CD371 is also being investigated as a potential therapeutic target, including the development of antibody-drug conjugates and CAR-T cell therapies for AML.
