An alternative for retiring anti-human IgA clone AD3

Comparison of AD3 and AD2.947 anti-human IgA antibody clones:

  • Both AD2.947 and AD3 are mouse monoclonal antibodies of IgG1 isotype and are from the same immunization. Both are specific for human IgA, and are suitable for immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections and ELISA.

  •  AD2.947 blocks AD3-HRP binding by 75%.

  • Data from ELISA comparison of both clones are presented here:

Conclusions: AD2.947 is a good alternative for AD3, and based on the data from ELISA it seems that it can be used in lower concentrations than AD3. It is an advantage, but on the other hand those users who need long term consistence of their results should do pilot experiments to set the antibody dose according to their requirements.
