are a subfamily of intermediate filaments and characterized by remarkable biochemical diversity. Cytokeratins are represented in epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides, molecular weight between 40 kDa and 68 kDa. The individual cytokeratin polypeptides are designated 1 to 20 and divided into the type I (acidic cytokeratins 9-20) and type II (basic to neutral cytokeratins 1-8) families.

The antibody C-46 reacts with Cytokeratin peptides 7 and 17 (54 and 46 kDa). Cytokeratins are a member of intermediate filaments subfamily represented in epithelial tissues.

- Western Blotting
Recommended dilution: 1 μg/ml
Positive control: HeLa human cell line
Sample preparation:Lysis 1% lauryl maltoside for 1 hour, 5x10 sec. sonication; 5 min. in hot Laemmli buffer (reducing conditions.)
- Immunohistochemistry (paraffin sections)
Recommended dilution: 20 μg/ml
Pretreatment: 0,1% pepsin, 30 min, 37°C
Incubation: 4°C overnight
Positive tissue: pancreas
Application note: chromogen DAB
Indicated dilutions are recommended starting points for use of this product. Working concentrations should be determined by the investigator.
